The Grady House is a special bed and breakfast inn. It has been voted not only the number one B&B in Florida, but also one of the top 15 in the nation.
The Grady House evokes the past by having been lovingly restored with beautiful antique furnishings and attention to detail. The house and rooms are warm and romantic with a pleasant relaxing atmosphere.
Lucie loves to cook and has an epicurean treasure trove of recipes. Recent morning meals have begun with fresh berries and melon balls with a strawberry glaze, fresh-baked cinnamon and coconut breads, blueberry waffles, apple pancakes, and poached eggs with a Gruyere cheese sauce and and a potato basil frittata with oven-roasted hash brown potatoes.
A major attraction is the back yard, a veritable Eden of interconnecting pathways, gazebos, plants and a fishpond. Composed of two adjoining backyards, the bit of country in the city is an intimate getaway. Guests can enjoy their morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine while strolling or sitting in the garden.
Next to the Grady House is the Easterlin House, former home of High Springs' first female mayor. This two-story, two bedroom Victorian is available to rent in its entirety.
After breakfast, you can enjoy the quaint and friendly town of High Springs; go gift or antique shopping, or drive to one of the several Springs in the area, such as Ginnie or Poe Springs, canoe or kayak on the Ichetucknee or Santa Fe Rivers or hike in Oleno State Park. Come back to town and have lunch at The Great Outdoors, The Coffee Clutch, The Springs Diner, The Mad Hatter or The Station Bakery.
After lunch, return to Grady House for fresh baked cookies and a cup of coffee or a soft drink enjoyed in the garden under the gazebo. Rest and relax, and walk next door to The Wellness Spa for a massage, or specialty bath. Then enjoy a glass of wine in the parlor before dinner at one of our local restaurants; The Great Outdoors or The Springs Diner. You may wish to drive to Alachua, 15 minutes away, to enjoy an Italian dinner at New York Pizza, southern food at The Ivy House or more casual country fare at Conestoga's.
High Springs is a wonderful town to visit and we hope you will come and stay at the Grady House to experience all that High Springs has to offer.
We hope to see you soon,
Paul and Lucie Regensdorf
